My general rule is for Pocahontas it’s okay if you are 100% accurate to the character’s appearance without altering skin colour.

But then we get to characters in Peter Pan which… Everybody needs to avoid. The “natives” in the Peter Pan film are so racist, there’s no salvaging them.
